Traditional Roof Mono Pitch 5°

Colourbond Traditional Mono-Pitched Roof <10°

Achieving BEYOND COMPLIANCE of the National Construction Code 2022 Vol 1: F8D5 / ABCB Housing Provisions Standard 10.8.3 ensures comprehensive mitigation of the risks associated with internal moisture in the roof cavity. BEYOND COMPLIANCE solutions go above and beyond the requirements of the NCC 2022, addressing critical areas such as preventing dew point transference, enabling Class 4 vapor permeable membranes to operate effectively, and ensuring unimpeded airflow past insulation. These measures are essential for maintaining optimal conditions within the roof space and minimizing the potential for moisture-related issues.

For a Traditional Pitched Roof <10° requirement mandates “25,000mm² per linear metre at the eaves and 5,000mm² at high level.

Achieving this standard is flexible, with various solutions available depending on your roof design and construction preferences.

Our G2500N Over Fascia Vent 25mm guarantees a calculated airflow of 25,000mm²/lm, ensuring compliance effortlessly.

The G502 Roll Panel Vent ensures unimpeded airflow through the eaves.

The VB10 Ventilation & Drainage Batten 10mm creates a separation between Colourbond roof and the Class 4 vapor permeable membrane.

For High level ventilation The RV10 range of ridge vents that meet minimum NCC requirements for high level ventilation.

For those seeking alternatives for ventilation at the eaves, consider the G1200N and VB20 Combination:

  • G1200N Over Fascia Vent 10mm: Provides calculated airflow of 11,000mm²/lm.
  • VB20 Ventilation & Drainage Batten 20mm: Offers calculated airflow of 14,500mm²/lm.

Combining these products yields a total of 25,500mm²/lm, surpassing the NCC minimum requirement of 25,000mm²

Either solution provides peace of mind for your project’s compliance needs.

Recommended Product Combination for Colourbond Traditional Pitched Roof <10°

G2500N

Over Fascia Vent 25mm

The VENT Over Fascia Vent – G2500N is the most practical and cost-efficient method of ventilating the Eaves for cathedral and traditional roofs with pitches <15 degrees. It is easy to install, discrete and compatible with either timber or metal fascias.

  • 25,000mm²/lm of free airflow
  • Meets NCC DTS requirements
  • Releases hot air from roof voids and manages condensation
  • The only solution to ventilate builds with no eaves
  • Can be used in isolation or as part of a passive ventilation system
  • Can be used to form part of a passive ventilation system that works year round with no moving parts or energy consumption.
  • Easy to install
  • Not visible as hidden by spouting/gutter

G502

Roll Panel Vent G502

The VENT Systems Roll Panel Vent G502, also referred to as an Eaves Baffle or Insulation Guard, is designed to establish a 25mm air gap between the insulation and the underside of the roofing underlay, ensuring seamless airflow through the eaves into the roof cavity.

Utilising the G502 allows for the seamless installation of insulation batts into the eaves, above the wall plate, without any gaps or uneven layers. Studies have shown a significant reduction in energy loss attributed to improper insulation placement in the eaves, thereby contributing to the attainment of Energy Star ratings.

This product guarantees compliance with the National Construction Code 2022 Vol 1: F8D5 / ABCB Housing Provisions Standard 10.8.3.

Features:

  • Ensures unimpeded airflow through the eaves
  • Ensures compliance with NCC 2022 10.8.3 – FD85
    • 20mm gap above insulations
  • Compatible with Concrete and Colourbond roofs
  • Prevents need for heal height adjustments
  • Prevents cold spots
  • Negates the need for reduced insulation at the eaves
  • Energy star rating efficiencies

VB10

Ventilation & Drainage Batten 10mm

The VENT Systems Ventilation & Drainage Batten 10mm VB10 is a Polypropylene batten designed to facilitate passive airflow and cavity drainage between the roofing underlay or membrane and the Colorbond roof cladding.

The VB10 creates a 10mm separation gap between the Colorbond roof and the vapor permeable membrane, preventing the transfer of dew point from the underside of the Colorbond roof to the underside of the roofing underlay or membrane.

The VB10 can be used to establish a 10mm ventilation and drainage cavity behind lightweight wall claddings.

Features

  • 7,250mm²/lm of free airflow
  • Meets NCC DTS requirements
  • Facilitates movement of hot air through and into roof voids
  • An alternate solution to using larger Over Fascia Vents
  • Can be used in isolation or as part of a passive ventilation system
  • Works year round with no moving parts or energy consumption

This vent can be used independently or in conjunction with other VENT Systems products to create a comprehensive passive ventilation system.

G1200N

Over Fascia Vent 10mm

The VENT Over Fascia Vent – G1200N is the most practical and cost efficient method of ventilating the Eaves of traditional roof pitches ≥ 15°. However, for roof pitches <15° the G1200N can be used together with the VB20 batten to ensure compliance with NCC airflow requirements for roof pitches <15°. It is easy to install, discrete and is compatible with either timber of metal fascias.

  • 11,000mm²/lm of free airflow
  • When combined with the VB20 Ventilation & Drainage Batten can achieve 25,500mm²/lm of free airflow
  • Meets NCC DTS requirements
  • Releases hot air from roof voids and manages condensation
  • Easy to install
  • Not visible as hidden by spouting/gutter
  • The only solution to ventilate builds with no eaves
  • Can be used in isolation or as part of a passive ventilation system
  • Works year round with no moving parts or energy consumption

*Note: for combinations see VENT System technical drawings

VB20

Ventilation & Drainage Batten 20mm

The VENT Roof cavity batten – VB20 is a 20mm Polypropylene Ventilation and Drainage Batten designed to facilitate 14,500mm²/lm of free airflow through a cathedral roof, between the roofing underlay and roof battens or purlins. Reducing the risk of insulation blocking these tight roof cavities.

However, for roof pitches <15°, by placing the VB20 behind the fascia it can be used together with the G1200N batten to ensure compliance with NCC airflow requirements for roof pitches <15°.

  • 14,500mm²/lm of free airflow
  • When combined with the G1200N Over Fascia Vent, can achieve 25,500mm²/lm of free airflow
  • Meets NCC DTS requirements
  • Facilitates movement of hot air through and into roof voids
  • An alternate solution to using larger Over Fascia Vents
  • Can be used in isolation or as part of a passive ventilation system
  • Works year round with no moving parts or energy consumption

*Note: for combinations see VENT System technical drawings

G1275

Eaves Comb Filler

The Eaves Comb Filler G1275 is designed with flexible fingers which adjust to fill the gaps left when using profiled concrete tiles or Colourbond roof cladding. This prevents entry by birds and large insects beneath the concrete tiles or Colourbond roofing profile.

The G1275 eliminates the need for expensive purpose-made profiled fillers that can block necessary airflow above roofing underlays that can trap moisture created by leaks or dew points (Colourbond roofs), in the cavity between the underlay and roof covering.

The G1275 can easily be applied in conjunction with other VENT Systems products and can be fitted on top of VENT Systems Over Fascia Vents or directly to metal or timber fascias. It is an excellent product for residential, commercial or school buildings. The G1275 is used outside of the enclosed roof structure and should be used in accordance with the relevant BAL restrictions.

Features:

  • Cost-effective
  • Allows free-flow of air into the roof cavity
  • Compatible with Concrete Tiles and Colourbond roofs
  • Facilitates drainage in case of leaks
  • Profiles to the underside of the roof covering
  • 1m lengths for ease of installation
  • For BAL-0 Zones only
