Ridge Vent – RV10P

The VENT Systems Ridge Vent RV10P is engineered to expel air from the roof void using natural convection, as warmer air rises, or through negative pressure generated by wind passing over the roof. Featuring an adhesive and flexible aluminium flashing, the RV10P conforms to various roofing profiles, effectively preventing water ingress. It’s designed to be compatible with roof cladding profiles having a trough depth of less than 34mm.

This product ensures compliance with the National Construction Code 2022 Vol 1: F8D5/ABCB Housing Provisions Standard 10.8.3.

The RV10P operates year-round without requiring any moving parts or energy consumption. Serving as a discreet alternative to traditional rotary-driven (whirlybird) vents, the RV10P doesn’t necessitate roof cladding penetration and is concealed by ridge capping or flashings upon installation.

It’s strongly recommended to incorporate high-level vents with some form of Over Fascia or Eaves ventilation for optimal performance.

Please note that the metal ridge cap is supplied by the roof cladding supplier.

Features:

  • Free open area above NCC Requirements
    • Redundancy for blockages
    • Average calculations easier to achieve NCC
  • Airflow of 7,250mm²/lm (per side)
  • Designed specifically for Colourbond roofs
  • Tested to AS1530.3
    • Spread of flame index 6
    • Smoke developed index 6

NOTE: For standing seam or trapezoidal profiles ‘snipping’ or ‘crimping’ may be required. For roof cladding profiles with a trough depth of 34mm and over the  RV10DT is designed to be compatible with most cladding profiles

For application in BAL zones, the RV10P can be enhanced with an ember guard crafted from non-combustible, corrosion-resistant materials such as steel, bronze, or aluminium mesh, ensuring maximum safety. The mesh aperture conforms to Clause 3.6 of AS3859:2018, with a maximum allowable opening of 2 mm.

VENT Systems specialises in ventilation and internal moisture management. Any guidance regarding the RV10P and its ember guard should be considered alongside the latest version of AS 3859, the National Construction Code, and any local regulations. It’s essential to collaborate with building certifiers, fire engineers, or specialised bush fire consultants to ensure compliance and safety in all applications.
