Metal Traditional Roof >15° to 75°
All VENT Systems technical advice presents BEYOND COMPLIANCE of the National Construction Code 2022 Vol 1:F8D5 / ABCB Housing Provisions Standard 10.8.3 to ensure mitigation of the risks associated with internal moisture inthe roof cavity. BEYOND COMPLIANCE solutions go above and beyond the requirements of the NCC 2022,addressing critical areas such as preventing dew point transference, enabling Class 4 vapour permeable membranesto function effectively, and ensuring unimpeded airflow past insulation. These measures are essential for maintainingoptimal conditions within the roof space and minimising the potential for moisture-related issues.
VENT Systems offers a range of solutions compliant with AS3959, AS4200 as well as NCC2022.
For a Traditional Pitched Roof >15° – 75° NCC2022 requires “7,000mm²/lm at LOW LEVEL and 5,000mm² /lm atHigh Level.”
FOR COMPLIANCE:
Application at Eaves or Box Gutters: LOW LEVEL VENTILATION
Our G750N Over Fascia Vent 7.5mm guarantees a calculated airflow of 7,500mm²/lm, ensuring complianceeffortlessly.
Application at ridge, abutment, parapet or barge: HIGH LEVEL VENTILATION
Our BV10 BAL VENTis specifically designed to assure compliance and ease of installation, guaranteeing acalculated airflow of >5,000mm²/lm, as well as compliance with AS4200 and AS3959.
ABOVE COMPLIANCE:
Our G502 Roll Panel Vent compliance with NCC2022 ensuring a 20mm gap above the primary layer of insulation &ensures unimpeded airflow through the eaves.
The VB10 Ventilation & Drainage Batten 10mm prevents dew point transference by creating a 10mm ventilation &Drainage cavity between the metal roof and the Class 4 vapor permeable membrane.

Unless otherwise indicated, Vent Systems’ individual products or product combinations generally comply with relevant requirements of the Australian Standards and National Construction Code (NCC). However, compliance with NCC minimum requirements alone may not provide adequate moisture and condensation management per sae. Vent Systems can provide professional and tailored advice as to the suitability, specification and installation of ventilation systems. G1200N
Over Fascia Vent
The VENT Over Fascia Vent – G1200N is the most practical and cost-efficient method of ventilating the Eaves of traditional roof pitches ≥ 15°-75°. It is easy to install, discrete and compatible with either timber or Metal fascias.
- 11,000mm²/lm of free airflow
- Meets NCC DTS requirements
- Releases hot air from roof voids and manages condensation
- The only solution to ventilate builds with no eaves
- It can be used in isolation or as part of a passive ventilation system
- It can be used to form part of a passive ventilation system that works year-round with no moving parts or energy consumption.
- Easy to install
- Not visible as hidden by spouting/gutter
RV10
Ridge Vent
The VENT Systems Ridge Vent is designed to release warm air from the roof void using the natural convection of rising warm air or by means of negative pressure created by wind blowing over the roof.
The RV10 has an adhesive and flexible aluminium flashing which is designed to form to roofing profiles and prevent water ingress on any pitch roof.
Recommended Application:
- RV10P for cladding profiles with a through depth < 34mm
- RV10DT for cladding profiles with a through depth 34mm – 38mm
- 7,000mm²/lm of free airflow (per side)
- Allows warm moist air to escape the roof cavity
- Is highly recommended to only apply high level vents with some form of Over Fascia or Eaves ventilation.
- Works year round with no moving parts or energy consumption.
