Metal Traditional Roof <10°
All VENT Systems technical advice presents BEYOND COMPLIANCE of the National Construction Code 2022 Vol 1:F8D5 / ABCB Housing Provisions Standard 10.8.3 to ensure mitigation of the risks associated with internal moisture inthe roof cavity. BEYOND COMPLIANCE solutions go above and beyond the requirements of the NCC 2022,addressing critical areas such as preventing dew point transference, enabling Class 4 vapour permeable membranesto function effectively, and ensuring unimpeded airflow past insulation. These measures are essential for maintainingoptimal conditions within the roof space and minimising the potential for moisture-related issues.
VENT Systems offers a range of solutions compliant with AS3959, AS4200 as well as NCC 2022.
For a Traditional Pitched Roof <10° NCC2022 requires “25,000mm²/lm at opposing ends of the roof.”
FOR COMPLIANCE:
Application at Eaves or Box Gutters:
Our G2500N Over Fascia Vent 25mm guarantees a calculated airflow of 25,000mm²/lm, ensuring compliance effortlessly.
Application at abutment, parapet or barge:
Our RV30AP Abutment Vent is specifically designed to assure compliance and ease of installation, guaranteeing acalculated airflow of 25,000mm²/lm.
ABOVE COMPLIANCE:
Our G502 Roll Panel Vent compliance with NCC2022 ensuring a 20mm gap above the primary layer of insulation & ensures unimpeded airflow through the eaves.
The VB10 Ventilation & Drainage Batten 10mm prevents dew point transference by creating a 10mm ventilation & drainage cavity between the metal roof and the Class 4 vapor permeable membrane.

DISCLAIMER: Product combinations specified within Vent Systems Pty Ltd (ACN 682 448 997) (Vent Systems) technical documentation are designed to mitigate the risk of moisture accumulation and condensation when installed correctly. Unless otherwise indicated, Vent Systems’ individual products or product combinations generally comply with relevant requirements of the Australian Standards and National Construction Code (NCC). However, compliance with NCC minimum requirements alone may not provide adequate moisture and condensation management per sae. Vent Systems can provide professional and tailored advice as to the suitability, specification and installation of ventilation systems. Except to the extent that we have provided tailored advice, to the fullest extent permitted by law, Vent Systems accepts no liability for losses, damages or defects arising from the specification, installation or performance of its products, and does not guarantee any condensation control, moisture mitigation or overall building performance.
G2500N
Over Fascia Vent
The VENT Over Fascia Vent – G2500N is the most practical and cost-efficient method of ventilating the Eaves for cathedral and traditional roofs with pitches <15 degrees. It is easy to install, discrete and compatible with either timber or Metal fascias.
- 25,000mm²/lm of free airflow
- Meets NCC DTS requirements
- Releases hot air from roof voids and manages condensation
- Easy to install
- Not visible as hidden by gutter
- The only solution to ventilate builds with no eaves
- Can be used in isolation or as part of a passive ventilation system
- Works year round with no moving parts or energy consumption
G1200N
Over Fascia Vent
The VENT Over Fascia Vent – G1200N is the most practical and cost efficient method of ventilating the Eaves of traditional roof pitches ≥ 15°. However, for roof pitches <15° the G1200N can be used together with the VB20 ventilation and Drainage Batten 20mm to ensure compliance with NCC airflow requirements for roof pitches <15°. It is easy to install, discrete and is compatible with either timber of Metal fascias.
- 11,000mm²/lm of free airflow
- When combined with the VB20 Ventilation & Drainage Batten can achieve 25,500mm²/lm of free airflow
- Meets NCC DTS requirements
- Releases hot air from roof voids and manages condensation
- The only solution to ventilate builds with no eaves
- Can be used in isolation or as part of a passive ventilation system
- Can be used to form part of a passive ventilation system that works year round with no moving parts or energy consumption.
- Easy to install
- Not visible as hidden by spouting/gutter
*Note: for combinations see VENT System technical drawings
VB20
Ventilation & Drainage Batten 20mm
The VENT Roof cavity batten – VB20 is a 20mm Polypropylene Ventilation and Drainage Batten designed to facilitate 14,500mm² /lm of free airflow through a cathedral roof, between the roofing underlay and roof battens or purlins. Reducing the risk of insulation blocking these tight roof cavities.
However, for roof pitches <15°, by placing the VB20 behind the fascia it can be used together with the G1200N batten to ensure compliance with NCC airflow requirements for roof pitches <15°.
- 14,500mm²/lm of free airflow
- When combined with the G1200N Over Fascia Vent, can achieve 25,500mm²/lm of free airflow
- Meets NCC DTS requirements
- Facilitates movement of hot air through and into roof voids
- An alternate solution to using larger Over Fascia Vents
- Can be used in isolation or as part of a passive ventilation system
- Works year round with no moving parts or energy consumption
